Due to the omission of straps behind the ears, the mask is particularly comfortable.

The current masks restrict the supply of fresh air and heat buildup occurs. They have an uncomfortable fit with pressure points and cause particular problems for spectacle wearers. FREE is a new health and safety product when it comes to respiratory protection. It combines the safe mask with the easy to use nasal mask. Due to its compact size of 10cm width on 11,50cm height it is comfortable to wear and easy to transport.

FREE is compact, lightweight and easy to use. It has a simple appearance but stands out from the regular masks.

The following points have come to my attention when wearing the usual masks and are therefore a big part of my problem definition. Heat accumulation due to insufficient air supply and air discharge. Fogging of the spectacles due to upward directed air deflection. Uncomfortable fit and pressure points in various places due to the existing holder systems.

The size of FREE could be evaluated and adjusted through paper mockups.

The mask is held in the oral cavity by two tubes. The holding tubes, which are put between the teeth and the inside of the jaws for attachment, can be removed with a click system and stowed away with the microfiber bag supplied with the respirator. The bag is interwoven with silver threads, which are known for their antibacterial effect. The filter system achieves protection class FFP3 and the filter can be easily replaced. Free is comes in different sizes to offer everyone the best possible wearing comfort. A silicone pad provides optimal pressure distribution and clamp effect on the nose.
